Urban Crop by VIKTORIA + WOODS

We are TOTALLY OBSESSED with the Moss Pleat Pant by Piper Lane. Not only are we absolutely in love with the deep green hue, but also their unexpected versatility.

We've been wearing our's around the office paired with ballet flats and layered with the Midnight Knit by LIFEwithBIRD Classics. For the weekend we've been tucking in the Jersey long sleeved top in swan by Splendid. And for a night out, we rolled them up and paired them with the navy Urban Crop by Viktoria + Woods and a pair of killer black points.

Did we mention they're only $99?!

Now, I think it might be time to part ways and finally wash them so we can do it all again this week...

A/W season essentials, Part 4: the leather jacket

Hendrix leather/merino jacket by VIKTORIA + WOODS online now at http://www.luxestaples.com

And so, we firmly believe that - above ALL else - the one thing every winter wardrobe needs, is a quality leather jacket. They may come at a pretty penny, but this is an investment piece that will keep on giving for years to come. A truly timeless piece.

We are currently lusting over the Hendrix Jacket by Viktoria + Woods. The blend of 100% merino wool with buttery-soft leather is not only unique - but super warm and comfortable. We don't know about you, but leather jackets of our past have taken time to wear in and get comfy - where as this baby is like a second skin (a very warm one, at that).

Ther versatility alone is worth the $$. The options are endless. Wear back with a dress for off-duty chic. We LOVE it paired with Lilya's thea dress and tights. Or, layer with your fave pair of skinnies, a tank and a coloured scarf.

Yep, it's official. It's love...love...love.

Until next time... xx

Guest Blogger: Aimee on Perth Fashion Week

Hey guys! Aimee here. Perth Fashion Week. Where to start...

I opened and walked for Ruth Tarvydas on the opening show, House of Zaccaria, Ali Charisma, Francesca Di Maria, Thang Dee Hoo, Swimwear and Furne One.

Furne was definitely my favourite designer, he has such an amazing energy and really loves what he designs not only because every single one of his pieces are amazing but because he has so much passion for his work. He's confident, friendly, funny and a wicked man with such flare to be around! His finely curled orange hair and pale skin is hard to miss - and his garments are a total reflection of the man! The bejewelled dresses weighing at least 5kgs each were not the easiest to walk in but they did make you feel a million bucks. We wore fake blonde wigs and classic make up for the show, making you feel very out of character with a sense of mystery. The adrenalin that flowed through my body backstage will never be forgotten, I literally could see my heart beating through my skin as I was slightly nervous of how long the dresses were, but once you were out there, lights shining, cameras flashing, there was no holding back.

The worst thing about PFW was definitely the 'waiting'. This is always a problem any fashion week around the world. It can be very draining to walk into a building at 8am and leave at midnight without leaving in between, your days drift into nights so fast you don't even see the light of day. But, it is only 4 days at the end of it, and once you get through it all there is a massive feeling of success.

I think the best thing about Fashion week abroad is that you are surrounded with so many different models from different countries, backgrounds, cutures, language, religion and so on that its so interesting to get to know the crew from backstage to hair and make up, models and designers. Perth being so small I didnt think I would talk to the models about these things and wondered what we would conversate about. All of the girls had so many desires for travel and I really enjoyed sharing my overseas experiences with them, so I guess getting to know the people from the city you're from, in the industry you love was a highlight for me during PFW.

Would I do it again? NO WAY! I'm tired... ask me again next year :-)

A/W season essentials, Part 3: the shaggy jacket

Orion Jacket by LILYA available at luxestaples.com

When the temp starts to drop, there's nothing better than rugging up after what seemed like the longest Summer ever!

There's also nothing better than rugging up and looking uber chic whilst doing so. How do you do this, we hear you ask? The answer: with LILYA's orion jacket  - of course.  It is THE antidote for Winter. Layer with skinnies, over cardi's and singlets or pop on a wide-brimmed hat (a la Miss Kristin Cavallari) and ooze effortless style.

We'll be rocking it with our James Jeans twiggy's, an IDS pocket tank and our fave pair of con's. Yay for Winter and rugging up!

New Label Lust: JULES SMITH

Wrapped up jellies

Kiss kiss necklace
Brooklyn bangles
See you at the souk skull cuff in turquoise
See you at the souk skull cuff in purple
We are seriously obsessed with EVERYTHING Jules Smith right now. Think coloured skulls, pops of neon and cute layering pieces.

This gorgeous label has gathered a cult celeb following in the States - Mary Kate Olsen and Anne Hathaway are among their fans - and it's easy to see why!

Founder and lead designer of Jules Smith accessories, Gina Nigrelli-Smith is a lover of all things vintage. A former ballet dancer and fashion editor, Nigrelli-Smith studied at NYU in the heart of Greenwich Village. With the images of fashion icons Kate Moss and Twiggy as her inspiration, Nigrelli-Smith forged a style of her own that is modern, indie and attention grabbing.

We'll be stacking the "see you at the souk skulls" in both purple and turquoise with the brooklyn bangles and wearing the wrapped up neon jellies with...EVERYTHING to add a pop of colour.

Tomorrow we think we'll channel Carrie Bradshaw by layering the kiss kiss necklace with a few longer necklaces. Available in a stunning rose gold. LOVE.

Shop the collection at Luxestaples.com here...and fall in love.

A/W season essentials, Part 2: sheer maxi's

The sheer trend is following on from the back of summer and making its way into the fash pack's Winter wardrobe.

We think it's a no-brainer...just add a wedge or boot for serious super stylin'. We love Piper Lane's double tank maxi, the mustard is an instant wardrobe update and is the perfect hue this season. Add a leather jacket for extra edge. The allure maxi skirt is the definition of versatile. Tuck in a loose tee or tank and toughen up with a pair of con's.

The best part? Both are lined to mid-thigh, so there's no need to go on a never-ending hunt for the right slip to pair them with!

Get on board the sheer train! I mean if RZ is sporting one, it's gotta be a MAJ trend, right?

A/W season essentials, Part 1: denim skinnies

The cooler weather is setting in, and we're dreaming of wool layers, belted cardi's, effortless leather jackets and everything warm in between. Paying homage to all the chic Parisian street style snaps we've been seeing recently,  we'll be bringing you a 5-part series featuring our fave Autumn/Winter essentials.

Up first - Part 1: the denim skinny.

There truly is nothing more versatile or on higher-rotation (at least in our wardrobe...) than our denim skinny jeans. They hit the ankle beautifully and the art of the skinny jean means it can be effortlessly tucked into a biker or ankle boot but looks just as chic teamed with a pointed heel or ballet flat. We opt for a darker blue denim like the luxe blue Twiggy from James Jeans. Because it is a darker denim, it is more easily dressed up or down than its lighter denim counter-part.

We're also loving this edgy grey hue for something a little different. It looks so on-trend with the rich palette of  maroon and saffron this season.

Now all we need is a plane ticket to Paree...
